{"id":5006,"date":"2021-05-03T14:59:02","date_gmt":"2021-05-03T17:59:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/atvos.com\/?p=5006"},"modified":"2021-10-08T20:11:13","modified_gmt":"2021-10-08T23:11:13","slug":"atvos-encerra-safra-com-emissao-de-24-milhoes-de-creditos-de-descarbonizacao","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/atvos.com\/en\/atvos-encerra-safra-com-emissao-de-24-milhoes-de-creditos-de-descarbonizacao\/","title":{"rendered":"Atvos closes harvest with emission of 2.4 million decarbonization credits"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Volume represents 2.4 million tons of carbon dioxide that were not released into the atmosphere due to the use of clean fuel <\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The use of biofuels produced in Atvos Costa Rica, Nova Alvorada do Sul and Rio Brilhante Atvos units, in Mato Grosso do Sul, was responsible for avoiding that over 2.4 million tons of carbon dioxide were released into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Atvos, bioenergy company, closed the 2020\/2021 harvest as the main issuer of decarbonization credits in the Renovabio program \u2013 National Biofuel Policy \u2013 designed for Brazil to reach part of its goals for greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction in the fuel matrix as defined in the Paris Agreement. Second largest producer of ethanol in Brazil, Atvos made available for commercialization, in the 2020\/2021 harvest, a total of 2.4 million Cbios, as decarbonization securities are called.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, with 1.8 million securities traded, the company responded for approximately 12% of the total of 14.5 million CBios that were established as decarbonization goals last year.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have potential to contribute with around 10% of the total volume of decarbonization credits defined as Renovabio goal for this year\u201d, says Marcelo Mancini, Atvos commercial vice president. This participation considers the goal assigned by the National Energy Policy Council (CNPE), which defined 24.86 million securities to be acquired by fossil fuel distributors in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With eight agro-industrial operational units certified in the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP), Atvos has potential to register 2.5 million securities per harvest. Such amount may represent possible revenue of over R$ 100 million, considering the average value for commercialization in B3 in 2020, R$ 43.66.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe keep on seeking improvements in carbon indicators in our operations. We completed data automation, which brings even more reliability for information, and we are getting prepared to re-certify all units\u201d, explains Amaury Pekelman, Atvos sustainability vice president. \u201cThis is an important environmental gain provided by Renovabio that promotes reduction of emissions in the whole production chain\u201d, he adds.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each CBio represents 1 ton of carbon dioxide that was not released into the atmosphere, due to the use of clean fuel.
