Understand its role in sugarcane production!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>This byproduct is very important in the sugar and ethanol production process, learn here how it is used \u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Filter cake is a byproduct of sugar cane production. It is a residue from the filtration of the juice extracted from the mills, is composed of organic matter and important minerals for the sugar nutrition, like phosphorus, nitrogen, and calcium, and is one of the solutions to replace chemical fertilizers in cane field nutrition, increasing agricultural yield, reducing contamination and fertilization costs.<\/p>\n<p>Before its application, some compounds are added to the mix to make it even more nutritious to the cane. Its use is a more sustainable alternative in sugarcane culture, since it reuses industrial residues of the process itself, contributing to the environmental preservation, one of Atvos main commitments.<\/p>\n<p>There are three ways of using the byproduct to be returned to the production process: application in total area; planting furrow; and distribution in interrows. The most used application is planting furrow due to its supply of nutrients and, mainly, organic matter.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the use in our own production, Atvos filter cake can be donated in environmental action to public institutions and NOGs that serve communities located in communities surrounding our operations for application in nurseries and cultivation of several plant species.<\/p>\n<p>The use of filter cake is another sustainable action for Atvos and the whole sugar and ethanol sector to produce clean energy and ensure a more sustainable future to all.<\/p>\n<p>Conquista do Pontal unit filter cake yard \u2013 material being prepared for utilization in the agricultural area.<\/p>\n<p>Application of filter cake in the planting furrow.
