Products

We are one of the largest producers of biofuels in the country.

Our eight agro-industrial units have capacity to mill 38 million tons of sugarcane.

Biomethane

What is it?

Biomethane is a renewable natural gas, i.e., a clean energy source that can be produced from different inputs, including by-products from the sugarcane chain, such as vinasse and filter cake.

The product is one of the most important sustainable alternatives to fossil fuels, as it emits up to 90% less greenhouse gases than diesel, according to the Brazilian Biogas Association (Abiogás).

Atvos' entry into the biomethane market strengthens our position in leading the transition of the energy matrix in Brazil and worldwide. It also contributes to reducing the carbon footprint of the company's processes and operations, since part of the production will be used to supply its own operational fleet.

Our plant

Our operation will be located in Nova Alvorada do Sul, in Mato Grosso do Sul, and will be one of the largest biomethane plants in the world using sugarcane inputs, with 315,000 square meters and installed capacity of 28 million cubic meters.

About half of this production will be used to supply our own fleet, replacing diesel and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of the operation itself.

With construction scheduled for completion and production expected to begin in the second half of 2026, the new plant will strengthen Atvos' presence in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and the socioeconomic development of the municipalities surrounding the operation.

According to projections by Abiogás (Brazilian Biogas Association), biomethane production is expected to jump 600% by 2029, from the current 1 million m³/ day to 7 million m³/day.
