Clean Energy

We produce green electricity, which, in addition to being used to power our own operations, is exported to the National Interconnected System (SIN) to fulfill contracts signed in the Regulated Trading Environment (ACR) and the Free Trading Environment (ACL).

During ethanol production process, sugarcane bagasse (biomass) is transformed and steam is used to produce thermal, mechanical, and electrical energy.

Did you know?

Brazil is a global benchmark in clean electricity production. In 2024, 88% of the electricity generated in the country came from renewable energy sources, including sugarcane biomass, according to data from the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

In that same year, bioenergy from sugarcane broke distribution records in the National Interconnected System (SIN) and was able to supply approximately 11 million Brazilian homes during the year.
