Eletricity
We are plurality in the form of energy and wish to transform lives.
We are one of the largest ethanol producers in the country, and
our eight agro-industrial units have the capacity to produce
38 million metric tons of sugarcane.
To renew the energy that moves the world, we produce clean energy that transforms lives.
During our ethanol production processes, we transform sugarcane bagasse (biomass) and use steam to produce thermal, mechanical and electrical energy. We can co-generate 4,200 GWh of electricity. With that, it’s possible to light up cities and help more than 20 million people with green energy, totally renewable, which contributes to cleaner air, reducing CO2 emissions.
Sugarcane bagasse, a by-product of ethanol production, is today one of the most important sources of electricity in the national matrix. In 2010, this type of bioenergy made up about 5% of the country's electricity supply, being the second largest source of renewable energy, second only to hydroelectric plants.
