Atvos Costa Rica Unit, located in the city of Costa Rica, received this Tuesday (05/31) a group of around 20 businessmen to present business possibilities with the second largest ethanol producer in the country.  The meeting is another action of the agreement entered into in February with Sebrae/MS and Costa Rica and Chapadão do Sul town halls (MS) to promote the development of micro and small companies of Mato Grosso do Sul north region.

According to Atvos Taquari Administrative and People Manager Chafick Fair Luedy, Costa Rica Unit already counts on duly registered local suppliers, but the goal is to expand these partnerships. “We are one of the largest companies in the municipality and have many demands that can be met by micro and small businessmen of the region. The signature of the agreement will certainly contribute even more to the sugar-ethanol segment growth in Costa Rica and its surrounding area”, he says.

For Sebrae/MS, it is fundamental to have duly qualified suppliers, with up-to-date documentations, and ready to supply to large companies. “This type of agreement is important because it strengthens sugar cane production chain and promotes more distribution of wealth in the regions”, says Sebrae/MS operations director Tito Estanqueiro.

This type of initiative promotes the local socio-economic development, generating opportunities and wealth to all”, says Costa Rica mayor Cleverson Alves dos Santos.

The event also counted on the presence of Costa Rica City Council president, Manuelina Martins da Silva Arantes Cabral, and presentations by Atvos Procurement area representatives, who commented on the approval process to participate in the company’s competitions, and Sebrae/MS team, which provided more information on Cidade Empreendedora (Entrepreneurial City) project, whose objective is local transformation through implantation of public policies for the development of strategic axes.
